SiriusXM Antenna Relocation

Recently I relocated the stock antenna to the roof rack using a 4' extension cable. Rerouted the cable from the front (Maximus-3 mount location) to the rear, added the extension cable (saved splicing, and can now be easily disconnected when removing the hard top), then just used the same Maximus-3 bracket to mount it to the Rhino Rack. No actual need for this bracket, but at least this way it gets some use.

Signal is perfect. Zero dropouts since.

The process of removing the antenna from its stock location wasn't a breeze. Couldn't find many instructions about it, but for the most part it was pretty clear which screws needed to be removed in order to reach the antenna. The short version is that I ended up lowering the sound bar and all other plastic trim that was in the way on the sides. Right where the yellow line touches the green line in the picture is where I attached the new cable from Amazon. I drilled a hole wide enough for the cable to fit through, which wasn't small. In hindsight, I might've cut the cable, drilled a smaller hole, then soldered it. Not regrets here, just always nice to cut down on drilling through the roof.

Again, the Maximus-3 bracket was no longer needed, but I decided to use it anyway, primarily because you need room beneath the antenna for the cable. This part was really easy. All I had to do was use some adhesive cable clips to keep everything in place as it was routed to the hole I drilled. For the gasket I used to seal the hole, I just cut one side of it to slide the cable into it.
